This resource page is designed for homeschool families, offering guides on how to incorporate Project-Based Learning (PBL) activities linked to our virtual world education resources.
Additionally, it provides resources to assist homeschool families in creating student portfolios and accessing personalized 1:1 teacher support.
Project-Based Learning (PBL) brings learning to life by giving students the opportunity to actively explore real-world topics, solve meaningful problems, and create authentic projects. Instead of passively memorising information, learners engage in hands-on investigations that develop critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills.
PBL encourages curiosity, deepens understanding, and helps students see the relevance of what they are learning which really motivates them. For home schoolers, it also provides rich, portfolio-ready evidence of learning, making education more purposeful, flexible, and enjoyable.

"As both a parent and a teacher, I've found Salty Sharks to be an engaging and well-designed program. My children enjoyed learning at their own pace, with content that challenged and captivated them. The graphics are excellent and the simulations feel true to life. A fantastic educational tool we highly recommend."

"The Salty Sharks have been a great resource for our home-schooling family. The lessons are
taught in fun and interactive ways. It allows our daughter to get up close and personal with
creatures of the sea right from our home. She's learned about the biodiversity of the oceans
(from marine mammals to sharks), the ecology, the threats to the oceans and its inhabitants, and
what marine biology encompasses. She learns from interactive lessons, virtual reality, and fun
video games that challenge her knowledge.
I would absolutely recommend this resource to any school, classroom, or home-schooling family as
a great resource that covers many learning outcomes in a fun and engaging way. These guys are really
ahead of the game when it comes to the future of education and conservation."

"Firstly as a dad of 5 my job is absolutely the hardest challenge of my life but absolutely the
most rewarding and the largest gift imaginable
My primary goal is to nurture my children into adulthood and freedom so education is essential, in
doing this I have multiple challenges and one is 2 of my younger children are showing early signs
of autism and my older 2 signs of ADD/ADHD so having them sit and focus at home and schools is near
impossible
When I introduced my 5 children to the salty sharks uprising education environments I was expecting
the usual response to most things, chaos and arguments but to my surprise they sat together all excited
to explore and just played the game not realising it was education focused….mind blown me who had
always seen value in gamification of education and games in general for a rest bite from reality
& also for fun really saw the impact this incredible ecosystem has on children/adults, education
& sea life conservation in real time being that my children's ages are 3 / 5 / 7 / 10 / 15 and that
didn't matter one bit!
Amazing right!! But it doesn't stop there, they began to actually think about the ocean and its impact
& importance to earth & life, something they have never really thought before, they began to ask
a million and one question (thankfully this I am used too & support) about the animals, the ocean,
ships, mermaids, the lore & of course sharks, I will be honest I did not have the answers but to
my rescue the very environment that they was in that sparked this curiosity did! and the way they
learned was by simply having fun and exploring which is everything a child wants & needs to grow.
And this was before they saw it in VR! just when you think being mind blown was the end, it was only
the beginning!!
Seeing all of this in its authentic glory made me the absolute supporter of this treasure chest of
development that I am today! So if you are looking for a way to teach your children or learn yourself
as it is age agnostic then look no further and check it out for yourself!
I must also take this opportunity to once again thank the creators of this incredible ecosystem and
for reviving my faith in the education of today!
This is the evolution of education and we are here for it!"
